As is the New Year tradition here you might like to take a peek into my newly organised shed and be my First Footer ! You might not have dark hair or be holding a piece of coal but thats okay,I dont mind, youre welcome here :0)
I'll show you round :0)

Here is my unnaturally tidy desk, it never ever looks like this and probably wont do so again until 2011 !
Give me half an hour on it come monday morning and it will look much more like home ............
The first thing you see when you walk in the door is the old dresser, a bargain find

and the place where I keep my silks in the drawers
and my clay in its cool dark cupboards. Some of my books are here, and my drawers full of ribbons . My containers of miniature accessories are here too and the shop box I bought last year but never got round to filling................ another project for 2010 !

Next to the dresser is my old sideboard where my cooker sits ready to bake my sculpts.
I have lots of bits and bobs in those tins and you can see my green witch pelham puppet hanging there next to my old china cabinet. She is very, very old and very, very scary and my daughter bought her for me for xmas this year.As a child I wanted her so much but my mam thought her terrifying and bought me the much friendlier white witch. I always lamented the fact she was never mine . Having took a good look at my green witch now I can see why my mam didnt buy her LOL she is terrifying but in a good way and I love her to bits !

I love this wall, I have my old wooden cabinet which holds all my paints and brushes soI can easily find them and underneath my singer sewing machine which belonged to my great grandma . The old singer sewing table was bought by me last year and also houses
a machineYou can see I have more pelham puppets hanging here, this little boy and girl are sweethearts and a lot prettier than the old witch !

This corner houses all my fabrics
and trims. The boxes were flat packed from ikea and I waxed them and labelled them and now can find anything I need at a glance.
My sewing box table is also here, bought on ebay last year and now indispensable !

My fireplace is a cosy place to sit while sketching ideas or having a cup of tea. I have my noticeboards there to keep me organised and my old dolls. The three on the mantelpiece are poor old lenci dolls in need of some repair but loved anyway, especially the large ballerina whose dress is so old it falls apart at the touch and whose ballet slippers are hanging on by threads. Her silk stockings though are perfect !
On top of the stove sits a 1920's boudoir doll,Priscilla who likes to watch me work ...............
The doll in the chair only came into the shed temporarily when I had workmen here last year and will be coming back into my home after the holidays, she is a very lovely wax over porcelein hildegarde gunzel doll. As you can tell, I make miniature dolls but collect larger ones and have many more in my home !So there we have it, far too tidy for its own good, but still my place ,where I feel totally at ease and where I can create.
Its changed a lot in the few short months since I had it built but now I feel settled in and am really looking forward to putting the key in the door on monday morning and settling down to make the first dolls of 2010 ,
